Skid Plates
You're out on the trail four-wheeling and having a great time when your engine dies. If you crawl underneath and find that a rock holed your gas tank, at the worst you'll be stranded for a while. If you find that hole in your oil pan, you've got more serious (and expensive) problems. Don't let either scenario happen to you. Be prepared for the rough stuff with our rugged skid plates - for engine, fuel tank, differential, transfer case, and more.
Many 4WD trucks and SUVs come from the factory with skid plates, and some are effective, but many were designed more to look good in the manufacturer's advertising brochure than for any serious wheeling. To ensure the underside of your rig has maximum protection, you need skid plates made from thick 3/16 inch steel like the ones you'll find on our digital shelves. Our skid plates don't just look tough, they'll make sure your rig makes it back alive.
The average jeep, truck and SUV has a lot of vulnerable sheet metal and aluminum underneath, and even if the factory skid plates are up to snuff, they seldom cover all of it. Sheet metal fluid pans and gas tanks hold precious fluids that, were they to escape, would quickly end your trip or worse. Our skid plates provide protective shields for exposed components, ready to take the hit from obstacles so whatever lies behind stays operational. And skid plates present a surface that is smoother than the parts they're shielding, allowing you to slide over that boulder instead of hanging up.
We have skid plates for many popular trucks and SUVs that shield vulnerable components like engine oil pans, transmissions, fuel tanks, differentials, transfer cases and steering boxes. But if you own a Jeep Wrangler you're really in luck because you can literally armor your rig from bumper to bumper. In addition to the aforementioned skid plates, for Wranglers we have skid plates for the muffler, evaporator tank and evaporator canister, and even for the front and rear lower control arms. With our skid plates on your Jeep, you can laugh at the worst that the most rugged terrain can throw at you.
Each of our skid plates is custom designed for the specific application, and powder coated for a durable, long lasting finish. They feature drain holes where required to prevent the buildup of moisture and debris. Our manufacturers have made installation and vehicle service easy because existing mounting holes are used wherever possible, and hardware is supplied where required. Most installations are bolt-on procedures, and the skid plates can be removed just as easily when service to the components they protect is required.
