Fuel Lines & Fittings
Rigid lines and flexible hoses carry the fuel from the tank to the carburetor or fuel injection assembly. When you want to add components to upgrade your car's fuel system to increase flow and performance, you'll quickly find that the factory lines and hoses are no longer right for the job. Many performance fuel pumps, filters, and regulators are designed for AN fittings, so they can't even be connected into the fuel system without a corresponding change to lines and hoses designed for these connections.
And even if you could connect your stock lines or hoses to a high flow fuel pump, would it make any sense to try to squeeze the increased volume through standard diameter tubing and hose? Fuel line and hose are also commonly upgraded to increase safety. Performance lines, hoses and fittings are designed to function under high pressures and temperatures, and many racing organizations specify their use. But even if you don't race, such components will allow mods like safely plumbing a high-pressure EFI unit into an older vehicle.
But although you can increase fuel flow and your safety factor with performance fuel lines, fittings, and hoses, we know that often this is an upgrade that's done mainly for appearance. Bright stainless steel braided hose connected with colorful anodized aluminum AN fittings are as much a part of custom car building and hot-rodding as chrome and fat tires. But regardless of what you want to achieve with your fuel system, looks, performance, or both, we have the components for the job. Our selection of flexible hose ranges from traditional braided steel Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) synthetic rubber to the latest braided Teflon hose, in a wide range of inside and outside diameters.
AN thread fittings were developed by the military during World War II; in fact AN stands for Army and Navy because the 37º flare and sizes ranging from -2 to -32 (1/8” to 2” hose I.D.), were a joint standard created by both branches. But while the flared ends are the same, the way fittings attach to hoses varies. The traditional method of attachment for braided steel is a socket that slips over the hose end and the fitting threads into the hose and socket. Some hoses use a push-on fitting that fits inside of a collar that is crimped onto the hose, while other fittings are twisted on and have barbs for retention in the hose. There are straight, 45º, 90º, and 180º fittings as well as T-fittings and adapters.
We offer hose that is compatible with all fuel types including ethanol blends, racing gas, alcohol, and diesel, in configurations that meet the fuel line rules and regulations of most racing organizations. Hose comes in bulk lengths that must be cut for custom fitment, as well as pre-made hose and fitting assemblies for select applications. Our fittings come nickel plated and in a range of anodized color finishes. In addition to hoses and fittings we also have fuel line system necessities like padded clamps to support and secure fuel line, fuel blocks, and protective caps, as well as the tools you need to build your fuel system including flaring tools, crimping tools, and hose shears.
