AMS Performance is an engineering company first, and our Snailworks Engineering Team approached the development of the BMW G8X M3/M4 Air Intakes with a single mission: maximize airflow and efficiency without compromise. Using advanced modeling, flowbench testing, and dyno validation, our engineers designed a system that dramatically reduces restriction and pressure drop across the entire intake tract. The result is a 128% larger cross-sectional area compared to OEM pipe, allowing the turbos to breathe freely for improved compressor efficiency, and consistent power increases all the way to redline.
To match both performance and aesthetics, the Snailworks team created two distinct variations: a premium carbon fiber lid version with magnetic fasteners for effortless filter servicing, and an open-top configuration featuring a powder-coated trim piece and premium stainless hardware for the ultimate in airflow and induction sound. Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast
For maximum efficiency, the airflow path into the S58’s twin turbos must be as unrestricted and laminar as possible. Our AMS Snailworks Engineering Team engineered the intake ducting and silicone couplers with carefully optimized geometry to create a seamless transition between components, minimizing turbulence and pressure drop. Each connection is designed to maintain consistent cross-sectional area and smooth flow, allowing the turbos to breathe with less effort. To further enhance airflow, the filters themselves incorporate a radiused edge, reducing entry losses and ensuring the highest possible flow into the intake tract. The result is a system that decreases restrictions, improves turbo response, and delivers more power throughout the rev range.
Mo’ Powa Baby
To validate the design, our AMS Snailworks Engineers performed extensive back-to-back testing against the factory intake system—and we didn’t stop there. Professional ECU calibrator Sam Barros conducted independent testing on his personal 2023 M3 Competition xDrive, equipped with catted downpipes, midpipe, AMS Heat Exchanger, Nostrum injectors, flex-fuel (E60), and our G8X intakes. Sam began by testing the OEM intakes at maximum tuned output, then installed the AMS S58 Intakes and again recalibrated the setup to take full advantage of the dramatically improved airflow. The results were outstanding, demonstrating that the system delivers reliable power gains in real-world, fully assembled driving conditions.
In Sam’s testing, the intakes produced an exceptional +86 WHP maximum gain over stock at 5900 RPM, with an average of +66 WHP above 5000 RPM and noticeable torque increases throughout the entire rev range. These gains translate to stronger low-end response, improved drivability, and significantly more top-end power. Results That Speak For Themselves
To quantify airflow gains with absolute precision, our AMS Snailworks Engineering Team ran the OEM intake, two leading competitor systems, and the AMS G8X S58 Intakes through our state-of-the-art MAF-based flowbench. Using MoTeC instrumentation to capture real-time pressure and airflow data, each intake was tested under identical, repeatable conditions that simulate the airflow demands of a ~600 WHP S58 engine. The results were unmistakable. The factory intake struggled, showing –2.15 psi of depression on the right intake tract, a clear sign of significant restriction. Competitor systems performed marginally better but still exhibited notable pressure drop. In contrast, the AMS S58 Intake System demonstrated a dramatic improvement with only –1.05 psi of depression on the right intake tract at the same airflow level—representing up to a 48% reduction in restriction versus OEM. At any given pressure drop, the AMS system consistently flowed more air than both stock and competitor offerings, making it the least restrictive intake solution in the test group. The AMS S58 Intakes also delivered nearly identical airflow results across both banks, demonstrating how well-matched the system is as a paired set—an advantage that promotes balanced engine performance and more consistent, predictable ECU calibration on each bank. When professional racer Jackie Ding put the AMS Performance BMW G8X Air Intake System to the test on his M2 race car, the difference was immediate and measurable. During dyno validation at AMS headquarters, our engineering team observed significantly improved airflow efficiency and reduced restriction, allowing Jackie’s S58 to carry strong power all the way to redline — a stark contrast to the OEM intake system, which tapered off sharply at higher RPM. On track, that translated into tangible lap time improvements: with sustained top-end power delivery, Jackie was able to stay in gear longer before shifting, maintain higher average speeds on straights, and achieve more consistent acceleration out of high-speed corners. Product Notes
- The filters use specially designed media that allows performance and efficiency to be restored to near new each time by simply using compressed air (30-40 psi) from the inside out, making frequent washing unnecessary in order to restore filter performance. For a deep cleaning from extreme environments, a biodegradable cleaner such as Simple Green or other mild shop degreasers can be used. Simply place the filter in a solution or spray the cleaner on the filter. Allow the solution to loosen the particulate and then rinse thoroughly. Shake the filter or use compressed air from the inside outward to remove residual water and allow a full day or two to dry.
- As these motorsports grade carbon fiber parts are hand laid, slight imperfections or weave pattern variances can be expected.

AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship for all AMS Performance manufactured components as well as technician labor for installation or repair conducted at the AMS Performance facility in West Chicago, IL. AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the craftsmanship of labor or components manufactured by AMS for a period of twelve months or 12,000 miles for the original purchaser.
Due to the variety of modifications and changes made to cars and/or engines that may affect the performance or durability of related components, AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the repair or replacement of parts manufactured by AMS.
AMS’s obligation under this limited labor warranty extends solely to the labor required for the repair of components or systems deemed by AMS Performance to have been damaged as a result of an AMS employee’s negligence during installation of those components, systems, or existing components and systems.
AMS COMPLETE VEHICLE PACKAGES
AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship for all AMS manufactured components within AMS Performance Packages, for the original purchaser. This warranty applies to AMS Performance Packages such as “Alpha”, “Ronin”, and “Omega” branded complete vehicle packages, and begins on the invoice date of part purchase and ends twelve months or 12,000 miles from that date, whichever occurs first. Due to the variety of modifications and changes made to cars and/or engines that may affect the performance or durability of related components, AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the repair or replacement of a package or packages manufactured, installed and/or sold by AMS.
OEM or other aftermarket parts utilized within the AMS package may or may not be covered by the original manufacturer’s individual component warranty. AMS Performance offers no warranty expressed or implied for other manufacturer’s components within the AMS package.
AMS GEARWORKS® TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLIES
AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship and craftsmanship for all AMS Gearworks® transmission assemblies. AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the craftsmanship of assembly labor and workmanship of components manufactured by AMS for a period of twelve months or 12,000 miles for the original purchaser.
OEM or other aftermarket parts utilized within the AMS Gearworks® Transmission may or may not be covered by the original manufacturer’s individual component warranty. AMS Performance offers no warranty expressed or implied for other manufacturer’s components within the AMS Gearworks® Transmission.
YOUR EXISTING OEM VEHICLE WARRANTY, INSURANCE, AND EMISSIONS OBLIGATIONS
A vehicle modified by the use of performance parts and tuning may not meet the legal requirements for use on public roads. AMS Performance makes no claims of compliance unless otherwise stated on a per-product basis. Use or installation of performance parts and tuning may adversely affect the drivability and reliability of your vehicle, and may also affect or eliminate your insurance coverage, factory warranty and new OEM part warranty. There is no stated or implied guarantee from AMS of continued OEM vehicle warranty, insurance coverage, or emissions compliance, due to the stress placed on your vehicle by performance parts and our inability to monitor its use, tuning or modification.

Returns & Exchanges
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will be happy to accept a return for a refund or exchange on products in new/unused condition within 30 days of delivery.
- All returns and exchanges must be made via our return system.
- Returns will have a flat 15% restocking fee.
- Product(s) must be in new condition and in the original packaging (please do not assemble, install, or modify the product in any way). In the event of fitment, flaw or defect pictures may be necessary to complete your request.
- Any product that was used or fully/partially installed is non-returnable.
- In some cases, return of the physical product may not be required. For these products, instructions will be provided on how to process a field destroy or dispose of the original item.
- The few exceptions for items that cannot be returned include:

Cancellations
We all know that things happen a people change their mind as soon as the purchase things. We take pride in how quickly we get things out the door and with 4 warehouses to ship from plus stock owned at our manufacturers, that speed is always increasing. This is why we only except full cancellations within 30 minutes of placing an in stock order. This helps us ensure your package gets out on the truck immediately or can be flagged before it goes through the packaging process. For orders that are not in stock or special order, we allow 24 hours. Cancellations can be done online by following the instructions found HERE or by emailing support@jmautoracing.com ,
Your request will be processed as quickly as possible, but please note that sometimes products ship quicker than expected. After 24 hours, or after an out of stock item has been confirmed, fees will apply to all cancellations with the exception of Special Order items, made to order items or custom built items; which can not be cancelled after the 24 hour period. Items confirmed on reserve or pre-ordered are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
Cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee. This fee is not to rip you off in any way. When you place an order, we lose 3% due to credit card processing, and also another 3% to credit your account. The other 4% is much less then what is needed to cover all other costs and expenses lost by cancelling an order, that was already processed. This fee is will only be imposed on orders that have not shipped. If a special order has been placed, such as pistons, turbo's, etc., and the items are built and ready to ship out, and a cancellation is requested, a 25% cancellation fee will be imposed IF possible to be cancelled.

What are my shipping fees?
For orders delivered within the continental US where reason for return isn't a result of a JM Auto Racing error, the cost of the initial shipping charge and a return fee will be deducted from your refund. A prepaid shipping label(s) will be provided.
Freight, international & non-continental US returns are accepted, however coordination of return shipping is the responsibility of the client. In the event an error is made by JM Auto Racing, a return shipping label will be provided.

Some products sold on JM Auto Racing include a core deposit. These parts have a deposit that is charged upon purchase and fully refunded upon the return of the core. Cores must be in rebuildable condition and matching vehicle application to the product sold. Once the product is received and inspected, the deposit will be refunded to your original form of payment. Note: Product cores returned that are not fully assembled or are not the unit that was removed from the vehicle, will not be refunded and the core will be discarded. Defective, damaged, or incorrect products
We all know that accidents happen sometimes. If your product(s) arrive defective, damaged, or simply incorrect, please contact our customer service department as soon as possible. Please do not attempt to use, install, modify, or repair the part! We will send you a replacement part and provide you with a prepaid return label to return the defective part. In some instances, return of the product may not be required. Products must be returned to us within 30 days. If the damage was caused by a shipping courier, we will schedule a damage pick up by the courier. Photos of the damage, defect, or fitment issue may be requested in order to correctly process your request. For items mispackaged or missing, returns and replacements will be handeled as warranty requests, subject to manufacturer involvement and normally handled within 24-48 hours. Please note that products must be in the original packaging and there are additional requirements for products that ship freight.
LTL and Freight Shipments will cover the delivery of most oversized items, including but not limited to, body kits, hoods, trunks, spoilers, doors, roll cages. Items should be thoroughly inspected at time of delivery. Any damage NEEDS to be notated on the Bill of Lading prior to the driver leaving for an insurance to be valid. If damage, is not noted, the insurance is voided out and will need to be dealt with between you and the shipping carrier.
Billing, refunds & credits
Payment for orders placed using PayPal of Affirm will be captured as soon as the order has been successfully placed. Payments for orders placed using a debit or credit card will be authorized only and captured upon shipping. What does this mean? If your order is in stock, it will be charged normally. For out-of-stock items arriving within 30 days, you may see the authorization temporarily fall off. The funds will be placed back into your account and you won't see the pending charge from us. Once the item ships, you will see the funds deducted and the charge posted to your account. For out-of-stock items after 30 days, the above will take place, however we will have to recharge your card once the item is ready to ship.
Refunds for returned products are issued with 3-5 business days once they are received by our warehouse and inspected. Refunds will be issued via the same payment method originally used to place the order (Credit Card, PayPal, Google, Affirm, Check). All returns, where JM Auto Racing is not at fault, will have 15% restocking fee less than cost of freight. Free shipping items will have the initial freight fees deducted from the final refund. Shipping is only free if you keep the item you purchased. Some items will have a higher restocking fee. This information will be revealed to you up front upon requesting a return. Once the refund has been issued a confirmation email will be sent. Please allow an additional 5-7 days for the credit to appear on your account.
Shipping & delivery
To ensure a fast and safe delivery we use FedEx, DHL, Ontrac, USPS, & UPS Ground/Air shipping services. Available shipping methods may vary for different type of products and shipping destinations. Most products in stock ship same day, or within 1 business day after which its delivery can be tracked via tracking number sent to your email. For custom or made to order items shipping time varies as they may have to be manufactured, painted, embroidered, or assembled.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Products that are oversized must ship truck freight / LTL which differs from ground shipments. NOTE: These oversized items require inspection and a signature upon delivery. For more information on freight shipping click here.
