The Wavetrac LSD’s ability to bias under ZERO to LOW load situations is what makes it superior to everything else on the market. In fact, it’s the only diff we trust in our high horsepower GTR builds! Wavetrac’s manufacturing tolerances and finish requirements meet or exceed all OEM standards. Wavetrac® differentials are built in American plants operating to ISO9002 and TS16949 standards. Our quality control system checks components at every step as they travel through the manufacturing process.

HOW IS WAVETRAC DIFFERENT

To best understand how the Wavetrac® is truly different from the other gear differentials on the market, you first have to understand the primary problem that the Wavetrac® solves.

The problem: Loss of drive during zero or near-zero axle-load conditions.

Zero axle-load is a condition that occurs during normal driving, but creates the most noticeable problems when driving in extreme conditions. Zero or near-zero axle-load is the condition that exists when there is ‘no-load’ applied through the drivetrain, when one drive wheel is nearly or completely lifted (often in aggressive cornering). It also occurs during the transition from engine driving a vehicle to engine braking and back, even with both drive wheels firmly on the ground.

Here’s how that loss of drive hurts you:

1) If you lift a wheel, all gear diffs except Wavetrac®, will NOT power the other wheel.

2) During the transition from accel to decel, all gear diffs except Wavetrac®, do nothing.

Why does this happen

All gear LSDs work in basically the same manner: they divide the drive torque between the two axles, applying drive to each side, up to the available grip of each tire. The amount of drive torque one wheel can get over the other is described as the bias ratio, a measure of the torque split across the axle.

Standard, open differentials have a bias ratio of 1:1. They can only apply as much drive torque as there is available traction at one wheel. When one wheel loses grip, the total available drive is lost as well (at a 1:1 ratio). All your power goes out the slipping wheel – along the path of least resistance.

Torque biasing differentials offer increased bias ratios over open differentials. For example, if a diff has a bias ratio of 2.5:1, then it can apply drive torque to the wheel with the most traction (gripping wheel) at 2.5 times the traction limit of the wheel with the least traction (slipping wheel). This is a significant improvement over an open diffs most of the time.

The problem is that when one tire has LITTLE or NO grip (zero axle-load), the other wheel gets ZERO DRIVE, because (basic math here): 2.5 x 0 = 0.

Lift a wheel (or substantially unload a wheel) and you get zero axle-load on that side – that means that during the time the wheel is unloaded, the typical diff will NOT power the wheel that’s still on the ground. No matter how high the bias ratio, you get no power to the ground.

During the transition from accel to decel, where you have near zero torque on the axle, even if the wheels are on the ground, the typical diff is unable to begin applying drive torque until AFTER the zero torque condition is over. While this condition is generally short-lived, the fact that most diffs can do nothing during that time means that there will be a delay once the zero torque condition stops – creating a reaction time in the driveline.

At JM Auto Racing we make returns and other client services as easy as possible. Our mission is to provide you with the best products and the best service in the automotive industry. We understand that sometimes, clients change their minds about products that they order or simply do not need them anymore. We also know that clients are cautious about terms and conditions since they are often tricky and misleading. Our goal is to make the return or exchange process trustworthy and as simple as 1-2-3.

Returns & Exchanges
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will be happy to accept a return for a refund or exchange on products in new/unused condition within 30 days of delivery. For orders placed during the holiday season from November 15th to December 31st, the return period is extended to 60 days. The following rules apply:

  • All returns and exchanges must be made via our Return Procedure with a valid & signed RMA form.
  • Returns will have a flat 15% restocking fee.
  • Product(s) must be in new condition and in the original packaging (please do not assemble, install, or modify the product in any way). In the event of fitment, flaw or defect pictures may be necessary to complete your request.
  • Any product that was used or fully/partially installed is non-returnable.
  • In some cases, return of the physical product may not be required. For these products, instructions will be provided on how to process a field destroy or dispose of the original item.
  • The few exceptions for items that cannot be returned include:
    • Items classified as “special order” or “made to order”
    • Custom Wheels & Tires Packages
    • Electronics
    • Any non-EPA compliant product including but non limited to catless test pipes, downpipes, headers and high flow cats. We will try to make as many accomadations as possible however a 25% restocking fee will apply. Please contact us to learn more.

Cancellations
We all know that things happen a people change their mind as soon as the purchase things. We take pride in how quickly we get things out the door and with 4 warehouses to ship from plus stock owned at our manufacturers, that speed is always increasing. This is why we only except full cancellations within 30 minutes of placing an in stock order. This helps us ensure your package gets out on the truck immediately or can be flagged before it goes through the packaging process. For orders that are not in stock or special order, we allow 24 hours. Cancellations can be done online by following the instructions found HERE or by emailing [email protected] ,

Your request will be processed as quickly as possible, but please note that sometimes products ship quicker than expected. After 24 hours, or after an out of stock item has been confirmed, fees will apply to all cancellations with the exception of Special Order items, made to order items or custom built items; which can not be cancelled after the 24 hour period. Items confirmed on reserve or pre-ordered are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.

Cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee. This fee is not to rip you off in any way. When you place an order, we lose 3% due to credit card processing, and also another 3% to credit your account. The other 4% is much less then what is needed to cover all other costs and expenses lost by cancelling an order, that was already processed. This fee is will only be imposed on orders that have not shipped. If a special order has been placed, such as pistons, turbo's, etc., and the items are built and ready to ship out, and a cancellation is requested, a 25% cancellation fee will be imposed IF possible to be cancelled.

What are my shipping fees?
For orders delivered within the continental US where reason for return isn't a result of a JM Auto Racing error, the cost of the initial shipping charge and a return fee will be deducted from your refund. A prepaid shipping label(s) will be provided.
Freight, international & non-continental US returns are accepted, however coordination of return shipping is the responsibility of the client. In the event an error is made by JM Auto Racing, a return shipping label will be provided.

Сore deposits
Some products sold on JM Auto Racing include a core deposit. These parts have a deposit that is charged upon purchase and fully refunded upon the return of the core. Cores must be in rebuildable condition and matching vehicle application to the product sold. Once the product is received and inspected, the deposit will be refunded to your original form of payment. Note: Product cores returned that are not fully assembled or are not the unit that was removed from the vehicle, will not be refunded and the core will be discarded. Defective, damaged, or incorrect products
We all know that accidents happen sometimes. If your product(s) arrive defective, damaged, or simply incorrect, please contact our customer service department as soon as possible. Please do not attempt to use, install, modify, or repair the part! We will send you a replacement part and provide you with a prepaid return label to return the defective part. In some instances, return of the product may not be required. Products must be returned to us within 30 days. If the damage was caused by a shipping courier, we will schedule a damage pick up by the courier. Photos of the damage, defect, or fitment issue may be requested in order to correctly process your request. For items mispackaged or missing, returns and replacements will be handeled as warranty requests, subject to manufacturer involvement and normally handled within 24-48 hours. Please note that products must be in the original packaging and there are additional requirements for products that ship freight.

LTL and Freight Shipments will cover the delivery of most oversized items, including but not limited to, body kits, hoods, trunks, spoilers, doors, roll cages. Items should be thoroughly inspected at time of delivery. Any damage NEEDS to be notated on the Bill of Lading prior to the driver leaving for an insurance to be valid. If damage, is not noted, the insurance is voided out and will need to be dealt with between you and the shipping carrier.

Billing, refunds & credits
Payment for orders placed using PayPal of Affirm will be captured as soon as the order has been successfully placed. Payments for orders placed using a debit or credit card will be authorized only and captured upon shipping. What does this mean? If your order is in stock, it will be charged normally. For out-of-stock items arriving within 30 days, you may see the authorization temporarily fall off. The funds will be placed back into your account and you won't see the pending charge from us. Once the item ships, you will see the funds deducted and the charge posted to your account. For out-of-stock items after 30 days, the above will take place, however we will have to recharge your card once the item is ready to ship.

Refunds for returned products are issued with 3-5 business days once they are received by our warehouse and inspected. Refunds will be issued via the same payment method originally used to place the order (Credit Card, PayPal, Google, Affirm, Check). All returns, where JM Auto Racing is not at fault, will have 15% restocking fee less than cost of freight. Free shipping items will have the initial freight fees deducted from the final refund. Shipping is only free if you keep the item you purchased. Some items will have a higher restocking fee. This information will be revealed to you up front upon requesting a return. Once the refund has been issued a confirmation email will be sent. Please allow an additional 5-7 days for the credit to appear on your account.

Shipping & delivery
To ensure a fast and safe delivery we use FedEx, DHL, Ontrac, USPS, & UPS Ground/Air shipping services. Available shipping methods may vary for different type of products and shipping destinations. Most products in stock ship same day, or within 1 business day after which its delivery can be tracked via tracking number sent to your email. For custom or made to order items shipping time varies as they may have to be manufactured, painted, embroidered, or assembled.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Products that are oversized must ship truck freight / LTL which differs from ground shipments. NOTE: These oversized items require inspection and a signature upon delivery. For more information on freight shipping click here.
  • Shipments to Canada are treated as all other international shipments. It is the recipient's responsibility to pay all applicable duties, taxes, & brokerage fees. Detailed Info can be found here here.
  • Shipments to HI, AK, PR, Guam, Virgin Islands, APOs, & Canada might require extra shipping charges. International shipping quotes will be e-mailed to the customer before the credit card is charged.

Warranty

AMS PRODUCT AND INSTALLATION LABOR

AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship for all AMS Performance manufactured components as well as technician labor for installation or repair conducted at the AMS Performance facility in West Chicago, IL. AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the craftsmanship of labor or components manufactured by AMS for a period of twelve months or 12,000 miles for the original purchaser.

Due to the variety of modifications and changes made to cars and/or engines that may affect the performance or durability of related components, AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the repair or replacement of parts manufactured by AMS.

AMS’s obligation under this limited labor warranty extends solely to the labor required for the repair of components or systems deemed by AMS Performance to have been damaged as a result of an AMS employee’s negligence during installation of those components, systems, or existing components and systems.

AMS COMPLETE VEHICLE PACKAGES

AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship for all AMS manufactured components within AMS Performance Packages, for the original purchaser. This warranty applies to AMS Performance Packages such as “Alpha”, “Ronin”, and “Omega” branded complete vehicle packages, and begins on the invoice date of part purchase and ends twelve months or 12,000 miles from that date, whichever occurs first. Due to the variety of modifications and changes made to cars and/or engines that may affect the performance or durability of related components, AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the repair or replacement of a package or packages manufactured, installed and/or sold by AMS.

OEM or other aftermarket parts utilized within the AMS package may or may not be covered by the original manufacturer’s individual component warranty. AMS Performance offers no warranty expressed or implied for other manufacturer’s components within the AMS package.

AMS GEARWORKS® TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLIES

AMS Performance offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship and craftsmanship for all AMS Gearworks® transmission assemblies. AMS’s obligation under this warranty extends solely to the craftsmanship of assembly labor and workmanship of components manufactured by AMS for a period of twelve months or 12,000 miles for the original purchaser.

OEM or other aftermarket parts utilized within the AMS Gearworks® Transmission may or may not be covered by the original manufacturer’s individual component warranty. AMS Performance offers no warranty expressed or implied for other manufacturer’s components within the AMS Gearworks® Transmission.

YOUR EXISTING OEM VEHICLE WARRANTY, INSURANCE, AND EMISSIONS OBLIGATIONS

AMS Performance makes no claims of compliance unless otherwise stated on a per-product basis.
