The more air and fuel an engine burns, the more power it makes. But, a naturally aspirated engine is limited to the amount of air that can be forced in by atmospheric pressure. There are modifications that can be made to increase airflow and efficiency, like cold air intakes, performance intake manifolds and cylinder heads, holding the valves open longer with long duration camshafts, and increasing displacement, but there are drawbacks to this approach.
There are generally physical limitations that restrict how much engine size can be increased, and some modifications like performance camshafts can increase power, but also result in unacceptable idle quality, poor fuel economy, and excessive emissions. Like the OEMs have discovered, the most efficient and cost-effective way to dramatically increase horsepower while maintaining drivability is with forced induction, using superchargers or turbochargers.
Look around today and you'll see sports and muscle cars that have the horsepower output of their already powerful V8 engines increased by almost 50% with the addition of a supercharger and intercooler. Diesel trucks have long used turbochargers, but now they're turning up on ordinary gas powered SUVs and sedans because they allow their small 4-cylinder engines to make the power of a much larger naturally aspirated V6, while retaining the smaller engine's fuel economy. If you have a naturally aspirated engine and want in on the boosted fun, or if you want to upgrade your OE boosted engine, you've come to the right place.
We offer complete, application specific, bolt-on supercharger and turbocharger kits for most popular engine/vehicle combinations. Our supercharger kits include the supercharger, intake manifold, fuel injectors, intercooler, pulleys, belt and all other necessary components. Turbocharger kits for gas and diesel engines include the turbo, wastegate, pipes, air intake, injectors, and all necessary hoses, fittings and hardware. All of our kits have been carefully engineered by brands that specialize in forced induction systems, to deliver the increased power you want without overstressing your engine.
If you want more power from your factory boosted engine, we can help. If you don't have an intercooler, adding one will cool the intake charge for a significant gain in horsepower. Swapping the supercharger pulley to one with a larger diameter spins the supercharger faster to increase airflow and power. Improving fuel flow with larger injectors and recalibrating the ECM can improve output, but doing so without increasing airflow can create problems, particularly on diesel engines. We offer performance turbochargers that can flow more air, spool up faster for quicker response, and better control exhaust gas temperatures. |
